  • Titling in Premiere Pro 5.5… Suggestions Please.

    Hi All:

Until this recent project, I have not needed to do much Titling in Premiere 5.5. I switched from Final Cut last year after they abandoned the Pro market, so I am somewhat new to the platform.

I had originally worked with FC Express 4 and have a copy of Live Type. I am just wanting to do some basic titling on lower thirds and title screens, but I am fighting the titling in 5.5. I have been working in Live Type, exporting the lower thirds and title screens as MOV files, and using them that way. It just seems odd that the work flow is so disjointed, and with Adobe being such a good suite, I feel I must be at fault.

When you pros need to add titles and lower thirds, what are you using? It seems 5.5 doesn’t have much to offer here, which surprises me. I don’t know if there is a separate program in the suite I am not using, or if I am just really ignorant of the power of the titling feature in 5.5, but either way, I am stuck.

Any suggestions on third party stuff, or is there something here I am missing?

    Thanks for the help!

    Mark

Try here >https://tv.adobe.com/watch/short-and-suite/working-with-hdslr-footage-in-premiere-pro-cs5/ and other listings or https://www.video2brain.com/en/videos-4001.htm?auto_play=1 and other listings

It is simpler to use than Sony Vegas Pro 11, good luck

You can move titles around in the monitor etc

I just found out that the library files on the downloaded version of the software are missing, thus I have no lower thirds banners to chose from… No templates were included in the link I received from my company, so I need to locate the person in IT that ordered the software, and get them to download the library content from the website. This is why I have no lower thirds!

    grrrr!

Thanks for the help and the links to the videos. I’m off to view them.

You can use photoshop too. But download the title templates and you will be okay

You might also want to take a look at the NewBlueFX Titler Pro which was announced at NAB this year. It makes it easy to create 2D/3D titles and lower thirds in Premiere and other NLE’s so you can use the same titler cross platform!
