The best way is to resize all the photos in Photoshop to your movie size and resolution i.e. 720 x 480 @ 300dpi (not 72dpi) for quality; or 4 x 3; 16 x 9. I start with psd file and resize all the layers inside. I remove some backgrounds, make the pix nice and fancy, color fix and more. After I satisfied I use the script menu to export all to files and save them as targa frames.

Since you seem to be on a tight budget, I will say stick to your 6.5 and you will enjoy and have good sleep. The PPro issue is still problematic and the fact that you want to upgrade from a very old system make the odds heavier. Most of the plugins will not work or may crash from time to time if you upgrade now. The best titlers for 6.5 can’t work in PPro and it’s titler freezes with memory shortages.
Just manage your lovable PC for the meantime and hopefully you will get some money like $1500.00 and go big for a quad-core system with lots of Ram and hard drive.

How about the CS4 support. I am managing PPro 4, nicely with basic firewire, I may soon forget Decklink exist. I am not buying these new cards even if it’s a dollar or free

I believe you Buddy. It looks like CS4 as a whole is stronger without the Decklinks. so Decklink might end at CS3.

I have disposed off all my HP Workstations. I realised that they were the problem and expensive for name sake. The only Hp Xeon in my studio is for Graphics and minor titles and intros. I now use ASUS boards and have no serious problems with CS3/4 ON Vista 64, Q9550, 8gb, HDrives 500gb; 4tb; Intensity Pro. Sad there is no driver for CS4, so I use firewire and so far so good alongside CS3 on Intensity
Change the HP and have your peace of mind. I was in the process of getting a bigger HP, but had a change of mind and use the same amount to get two systems
