I have done extensive testing and have spoken to Avid about this. The relink option does not work with S3D clips. I experienced the same results you did (can only relink to one eye). Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update.
The only possible workaround would be to use the Update Stereoscopic clip option to replace each of your S3D clips with the AMA clip. I have not tried this so I am not sure if it works with AMA clips. Even if it does, you would have to do it one clip at a time as compared to relinking an entire timeline.

January 12, 2012 at 3:33 am in reply to: Trying to browse RAID causes immediate crashingI had a similar problem recently and it turned out to be a defective GFX card. I had 2 GTX285’s in a Cubix expander and one of the went bad somehow. As soon as I removed the board, everything started to work again.
I don’t know if this is your issue but I thought it might be worth looking into.

Richard,
Thanks, I did read this earlier. The post just describes how to create S3D clips from Sony’s NX3D1U camera. My issue has to do with taking a sequence that was cut from 2D media and relinking the sequence to 3D media.

November 5, 2011 at 5:15 pm in reply to: MC6 new features… favorites? disappointments? predictions?I am very excited about the new features. My only disappointment is that the multicam view is still limited to 9 cameras (I assume it is still 9 since multicam was not mentioned anywhere in the improvements). At this point, this is the only drawback I see as I plan to switch back to Avid from FCP. I realize for most people this is not an issue, but for those of us who do a lot of multicam editorial, the ability to see up to 16 cameras at once is something you just get use to. I have only needed all 16 a couple of times but 10 to 12 is becoming more frequent. Especially for shows that are shot using 5 or 6 cameras but are shot over 2 performances.
Anyway, I am impressed with MC6. I was an Avid editor for many years but have been off of it for a while. I am researching the various tutorials on migrating back to Avid from FCP and there seems to be many to pick from. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it.

November 12, 2010 at 8:49 pm in reply to: Decklinck Extreme 3D – How can I output a Frame-Packing SignalWhat a coincidence, I just called in the exact same question to Tech Support. The rep did not know and is checking on it for me. I will let you what I find out.

Thanks Ola, I tried precision mode but even in that mode, the smallest increments I get on the convergence slider is 1.4 which is still not small enough. I am hoping that BM maps the convergence slider to a dial on the Wave somehow or provides another way to adjust it in smaller increments.

I am glad to hear you have had good results with ProRes because I use that codec the most. As I mentioned in my original post, I am use to converting my sequences to other codecs when going to finishing for performance reasons but it would be way more time efficient if I could use the same ProRes media for finishing in the Davinci.
The majority of my projects are shot on either HDCAM SR (4:2:2) or HDCAM, so ProRes has been the codec of choice for many years.

I know many people are researching various possibilities to expand the number of PCIe slots. The ability to add a Red Rocket card along with an HBA card is an obvious need. The other situation where another slot would be beneficial is to add a 2nd GPU card for additional power, especially when working in 3D. If some additional PCIe slot solution is found, do we know for sure that the Mac version of Davinci would utilize a 2nd GPU like the Linux version?
Just curious.

The original posting to this thread from Kristian Lam from Blackmagic said the following:
“We’ve just posted Resolve 7.0.1 which adds support for DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+.”

I thought the new HDMI 1.4 capability was just a driver/software update to the current Extreme 3D card. I just ordered the Extreme 3D from my reseller and did not know I needed to specify the “Extreme 3D+” version (I do stereoscopic work). I’ll try to find out if it is a different card or just a software update.
