This is genius Brendan, well done. Now when I change a color setting in the the three adjusters the familiar quartz color wheel appears….not that I hate the X square thing, but to me a wheel is familiar.

I think I see what I was screwing up….needed to change the audio to dual mono before it would let me do it that way.

I have the detach part down, but I’m only shown one clip on the timeline, while in the video he shows how you can take that one detached clip and break it down further into its two individual recordings showing up as two clips in the timeline.

Powermax seems to be a big player, though I have no experience with them other than to request a quote for my G5. They were very responsive.

I found it parks the playhead on the match frame in the event library clip, so if you have snapping on, your skimmer will snap to that playhead if you wander off of it. Just don’t click anywhere else as that will move the playhead.

Reading the manual it says shift f locates the clip in the event browser….no mention of match framing.

I thought was to do match frame. Your playhead in the event library will be parked on the match frame.

  • [Craig Seeman] ” I really have to question whether people are spending time to understand FCPX in various workflows rather than trying to get it to work like an old style NLE.”

They have to WANT to understand. What I see is a lot of extremely disappointed (rightfully so IMHO) people who were counting on Apple to continue providing great tools. So rather than open their minds to the possibilities of this software, they vent their anger, again rightfully so. So to try and argue how something works now is a moot issue for these folks as they WON’T be using this tool and are being forced to switch to another tool they’re unfamiliar with as well. I would just point out the new way you do stuff and leave it at that. And I for one love to see the venting. From day one I’ve told my colleagues they just should have called it something else.

[Miha Pece] “i’m breaking my hand just to put simple audio cross dissolve in X.”

I agree this needs to be addressed. A simple right click on a transition and select either video, audio or both might be a solution to crossfade audio contained with the video.
