Just playing round with motion to fcp x effect publishing tools.

I have created a Colour Grading filter that includes a few helpful colour tools from motion.

One for the slider freaks out there 😉

Unzip to your User Name / Movies / Motion Templates / Effects folder

Please find the effect attached to my file page of my profile,

    Cheers,

    Brendan

    Nice one Brendan

    Thanks

The lack of a gamma filter drove me to build one in motion too. Yours is much cooler 🙂

This is genius Brendan, well done. Now when I change a color setting in the the three adjusters the familiar quartz color wheel appears….not that I hate the X square thing, but to me a wheel is familiar.

    Best,
    Geoff

Hey Brendan, just found this and am currently trying many of your great custom effects.
On this special one, the Colour Grading Tool, I get a slight pixelshift to the left bottom (about 1-2 pixels). Did you notice that? I had a look in Motion and everything seems fine there, Position with all groups is 0/0/0. So i don´t know what it is.
Am I seeing something wrong or is there a pixelshift and how can I fix it?

That’s odd, I’m thinking that is a Lion issue?…. have you upgraded to Lion?

I have upgraded to lion as well and am seeing the slight shift as well.

I’ll have another look at it, as I’ve forgotten what is used in it. I’m thinking it may be a Image Unit problem as some of them are a bit quirky I have noticed when publishing them to FCP X.

    Cheers for the heads up,

    BG

    Hi Alban,

Here is an updated version of the colour grading tools preset I did.

Download FCP X: BG Colour Grading Tools V2

It has been re-worked to remove any image unit filters which appear to be causing the problem with the transition to Lion.

    Hope this is useful.

    Cheers,

    Brendan
