Have you tried the viz on the primary port? If so how does it look? Also is it possible you are running refresh rates on the 8800 that could be affecting the overall performance of the viz?

Including Steves thoughts, I think part of your problem might be caused by lack of optimized hardware drivers under Bootcamp and XP. PPro CS2 utilizes VGA, Audio, and Haredrives much more excessively than AE or PS or other apps.
For PPro with all hardware drivers installed correctly on a basic PC, it can and does bog down, but not shutting down the whole system. CS3 might be a good answer for you as an upgrade. -
Some of Decklink products, Multibridge Pro, Multibridge Extreme, Multibridge Eclipse, support AE comp Views on DVI outputs. Bear in mind however that XP64 does not support QT
Timeline playback is still dependent on System specs, and complexity of comp so not realtime. -
Do you have any other programs running while trying to burn? or possibly some auto update, antivirus, screensavers, etc. Lots of things can interrupt what would be a successful burn. I don’t have blue ray yet, but just a thought.

My guess is that you have automatic button routing enabled, which is by default. When you begin a project disable it when you first begin to use buttons. It allows you to use the pic whip to set the desired action for the remote. I don’t have CS3 yet, so it might be something else however.

I am still waiting for 6.3 drivers for Multi Bridge extreme, so I can’t answer to everything, but If you have a good working system now I would wait to do the update until after your big project is complete. Also all of Blackmagic drivers have cumulative updates, and you should completely remove all previous drivers before installing 6.3. If you need help in doing so let us know.

I ran into a similar problem. Work around was to copy all media files and menus into new folder, and start over. Thats a real pain on a complex DVD.
My hunch was I had imported VOB files from a clients DVD into a new project we were working on. The Project settings showed no problem with transcoding and all seemed ok until we went to transcode for burn.Encore went not responding. When trying to fix it I noticed the hundreds of 1.3m BMP files in the Media Cache Folder. I was never able to clear anything out and make it work. There may be some other way, but I did not have time to screw around.GC

It would help to know what your comp settings are. Is it possible audio is muted on export? (Speaker box is greyed out – timeline view) Also if you are running PPro2.0 native, you may not be able to export anything other than 48k 16 bit which Premiere sees just fine. If you have CS-2 and all else fails, you have the option under edit tab to edit in Audition. You might be able to determine where the problem is. (possible phase cancellation, or level issues.)

My guess only, but as MPEG 2 is y cb cr the least amount of re-sampeling you do to the y channel, the better. I would choose the YUV24 out of premiere. Are you using the Pro coder plug in from within Premiere? The other option would be to test a couple of samples using a couple of gradiated ramps with separate luma and chroma characteristics, and maybe add some moving grid lines in Premiere. You could make the elements it in PS easily.

I have never seen this, and have used 44.1 stuff frequently converted, and mixed in Premiere, with AE audio. Usually with music bed. The only work around I might try would be to export each track out of Premiere, and mix them in Audition multi track. Maybe try small segment to see if that would fix the audio, or give some other clue as to what is going on. Possibly some kind of mix down peak distortion or phase issues, I don’t know.
