Sorry for the late update!

Had connected the Ref in of the Deck and the breakout cable with the Black burst generator. Double checked and checked the correct option in the Blackmagic preferences.. but no luck..

Also just found this! has anyone used this method?

Yes had connected to the Ref in of the breakout cable.. and I think did not set the card to receive the signal. Will check that out and update..

Thanks Steve! Will give this a shot and post the result.

Just to make sure I have it right.

I take a ref out from the camera and connect it to the Ref in of the Deck

Then connect the Ref out of the Deck to the Video in of the Deck?

Slightly confused here. Wouldn’t my Video out from FCP go into the Video in of the deck. I’ll be using the HDSDI input.

Or did you mean besides the HDSDI connect another BNC into the Video IN as well?

Sorry.. totally new to this

Looking at the NX30 as well for my octocopter. Would love to hear how the NX30 has worked out for you.

How comparable do you feel the footage from the NX 30 is with the 5D. Just asking because I know clients will 🙂

Since we’re decided to shift to PC, but will continue to use our FCP suites atleast for another year we needed to look for a codec that was both PC and MAC friendly.

After quite a bit of research it seems that AVC Intra 100 is a very competitive codec.

This is a white paper published on it, it’s a little outdated though, but I imagine things have only improved since
