    Check if U don’t have an Ref o/p on the video card. This should be fine for genlocking the VTR. If not, and you’ll use an external genlock signal, both equipments must be genlocked to same source.

    Horita will work. You can get a used one for about $50.

    Try this first:
    Take one more BNC, and loop the
    Ref Video IN to the VIDEO INPUT on the VTR, and your problem will go away. (camera into Ref video in, ref video out to video in, video in loop to HD Extreme Genlock input. Both 75 ohm term switches OFF).

    Thanks Steve! Will give this a shot and post the result.

    Just to make sure I have it right.

    I take a ref out from the camera and connect it to the Ref in of the Deck

    Then connect the Ref out of the Deck to the Video in of the Deck?

    Slightly confused here. Wouldn’t my Video out from FCP go into the Video in of the deck. I’ll be using the HDSDI input.

    Or did you mean besides the HDSDI connect another BNC into the Video IN as well?

    Sorry.. totally new to this
