It’s certainly an interesting condundrum, Steven. If only we could “stick” a node onto a certain frame, there would be no problem.

I think the best approach is to render out the section that are already done on a new track, then you can add your new freeze areas without worying about messing up what comes afterwards.

Are you starting off with AVI for your menus?

[Steven J Casey] “when I insert velocity points and create a 30 second pause, all the points downstream are not moving accordingly to keep the freezes in the correct place.”

I’m not exactly following how you are creating the pause, but I would suggest splitting the event so that the envelope points stay with the same part of the media.

Also, if you have media for a project spred out over mutltiple drives, Media Manager is great for organizing assets even if the drives are not currently hooked up to the system.

    Hmm..

Off the top of my head:

    Dual Layer support
    Delayed menu buttons
    Multiple video angles
smart re-prepare (great for making menu changes)
    Add non-video files to disc
    Super-cool navigation tool
    Mastering for DLT
    Playlists (any combination of chapters)

[Ted Snow] “If you want to do a cross fade transition instead of a straight cut you can drag the edge of either adjoining clip to create the cross fade.”

…Or put the cursor at the junction of the two events and hit the / key on the numeric keypad which, in one stroke, creates a cross fade of the duration set in Preferences>Editing>Cut to Overlap.

September 20, 2005 at 2:28 am in reply to: Clip name display?

There’s no quick way to display the name superimposed on the output.

As Mike points out, you CAN display them on the timeline events. A quick way in Vegas 6 is Ctrl/Shift/i.

[klimvid] “the Audio TS folder is empty. Is this normal?”

Yes, that’s normal. The AC-3 is mixed together with the video (VOB files).
