I would do it with two tracks. The top track is the new pic full screen that scales down with keyframes to fit in its position on the background track 2. Keyframe the last five frames of travel to fade out because the background track image will have its stamp appear at the correct time. You need to create the back ground track pic as individual pics that increment as each pic flys back to it.
80 pics will end up very small on the final background image. I doubt anyone can be able to distinguish the original image when it was full frame down to a spot.
The hardest part is creating your final background images in Photoshop(or any paint app). It will be 81 pics total on track 2 of Vegas. Pic 1 is blank. Pic 2 has one final stamp. Pic 2 has two final stamps and so on. You can probably zoom all your full frame pics to any position on the final background in Vegas since no one can tell what it is being so small.

I purposely put the Quantize button on the toolbar (customize) so I can see it. It will easily show a lighter gray background when it is on. Like the button is depressed with edge shading. I got burned once with it off during a video project. When off, it can create many 2-3 frame dissolves where you want cuts.

Vegas outputs to client monitor if dersired. Have you actually used or tried Vegas or are you commenting on hearsay?

but, Avid always require you to capture to there codec and file format. Even still images. Vegas allows anything imported to the timeline, pics, audio, video and then it’s easier and faster to edit and playback. I get more work done instead of recapturing to one format, like Avid and many other NLEs require.

so what’s the big deal? Sony Vegas has been doing it for years. And Avid just started? 🙂

Charles,
In Vegas 6 use the track header Motion and use 3D Source Alpha. Then enter in either the X,Y or Z Rotation value on the left menu for degress (positive or negative numbers determine direction of spin). One half spin is 180. Two full spins is 720 (360 + 360) and so on. Make sure you set two keyframes to make it happen. Five full spins is 1800 (5 x 360). You can also use different style keyframes (Linear, Fast, Slow, Smooth and Sharp).

Charles,
I forgot to add that you also need two keyframes for it to work. So you might go from 0 revolutions at that first keyframe and then 5 revolutions at the second keyframe.GG

Charles,
Just enter the number 5 in the small box for rotation in 3DLE. It has a rotation symbol next to it with the degrees box below it for X,Y and Z. A negative 5 will rotate the opposite direction. Very easy at event level, track level and main output level.Cheers,

Chris,
I just started with a company that is growing. I asked the same questions the other day and I was told that the Terra was not always being dependable and some of the users where having fears and doubts each day. I wish I had better details for you at this time. So far, I only know they were also thinking about getting the Unity instead of expanding on the Terrablock. I justed started my research. I am interested in what other facilities are using for a similar setup and what works the best.Gary
