all AJA products do their down-converts in hardware- that means realtime. no delay, no waiting.

this is my experience also, and I have found that decklink captures can show issues for HDSDI content not matching the FW capture of the same footage when using DVCPROHD original content. My tests have only been with 720p HD footage however.

I am familiar with these cameras and that is not correct,
it is only 8min when you are shooting 720p60
at 720p24 the card captures 22 minutes
2 cards =44 minutes which is more than you can get in a varicam load.with the read write cycles in the area of 10,000 read writes

yes it is in the manual chris- they are marked in the diagram on page 17.
the BNC next to the tether connection is the HD/SDI input — the other 2 BNC’s are outputs.

Also note that you can do this 2 different ways – via the motion tab (faster) or the flop filter (slower)..
and welcome to 10 bit 1080 footage — without spending $100K on hardware it is really hard to get it in realtime, but do your offline in DVCproHD – much better than going the SD route.
