IF we are still talking about your HDSDI capture — that sounds as if there is too much on the FW bus. –even if you are using the 1200a over HDSDI but you kept FW cable attached.

Sorry but that is a fact of life with field based content, it is also the best reason to shoot progressive frames for non NTSC delivery. Your best bet is to edit your project as normal then run it thru the Nattress standards conversion as the last stage prior encoding for a DVD.
NOTE: some networks will not allow anything other than a “hardware conversion” for broadcast transmission use but for a DVD release like you discussed using graeme’s filters works great.

That is only with 8bit and 10bit Uncompressed content over HDSDI, and it is an apple issue.

I had sent a reply directly to you that in the settings that you sent me , the deck control was set to FW HDV and not NTSC DV. I do not know how the camera is set up and this is not some thing that can be diagnosed without all of the parts.
But this still sounds more as if it is a camera recording issue,
Has the Date and Time been set correctly on the camera?
Ignore TC breaks turned on in FCP?The real solution is to dub the HDV tapes direct to HDCAM and edit from those as masters – that will solve all of these problems and is the recommended way to deal with the intra-frame compression issues of HDV tape.
Now if it can pass the network standards…

My assumption is that you are seeing the C-frame artifacts of 20.97 >23.98 conversion. The footage you shot is really segmented frames and on the C-frame reconstruct from 29.97 the 4th frame of every 5 frame set can show the interlace artifacts it often just looks “mushy”
OR
you did not check to see you were on a ” 1″or “5” frame when your ran cinema tools and the cadence is off in the converted footage.

in shake 3.5 and later versions there is the ability to send video out from your Kona Card. the flip book needs to be rendered out prior to playback. this is just how shake works, it does not do real time playout via anyones video card.
