thats because Final Cut is not currently supporting 24pA in the 1080 format. then neither is Avid, (note the capture settings specifically say DV and DV50 materials)
you have to use Cinema tools.

it is not an issue as you are doing an import of the HVX’s footage.
The camera does not really support “deck control” for capture like people are use to with DV cameras- it also means that while you can record back to the camera via FW it is rather rough because it is only a crash record.

the DVCPROHD workflow is proven, but other than FW out to Panasonic’s 1200a deck there is not any other option for Firewire out in HD.

G-Tech Drives are being used by the panasonic consultants, and I have had nothing but excellent experience with them[hopperHD] “how about when exporting HD with the P2, is it ok to use the camera for that instead of using some sort of P2 deck to export?”

But NTSC SD is not HD
So NO you cannot accurately judge any NTSC SD interlaced content correctly on any computer screen. Without being able to view the supported masking and interlace done by an NTSC TV it will never be accurate in terms of temporal or chroma information preview even on the highest caliber display.

if it had a serial number it is a real unit

since there is not a mechanism it should not me anything on the cards. they do not make noise. My tests in a sound booth gave me less than 1db audible noise from the camera.At that level of audio are you sure it was not your watch?

I’m getting a really wierd image in the capture window of the Nitris. Now, after disconnecting the IN, there isn’t even an image in the Nitris.”
Nitris does not support 720p material. It only has support for 1080 content.
are you up-converting the content via the deck?

please confirm
you have plenty of footage on the tape,there are no TC breaks, you are not capturing over a Speed ramp, you are positive that the footage is 24p ( you checked the User bits on in the Kona control panel), you are not capturing bars and tone as captured on the tape or anything that could have been generated in camera.Gary Adcock
