1200A Error E-00 Servo Not Locked
Posted by Berry Blanton on February 9, 2006 at 6:52 pmAnyone experience this problem? We just got our deck yesterday. I was playing fine…fine…then hit with E-00 and the signal to my monitor is gone. E-00 in manual says: This appears when the servo lock has been disengaged for 3 or more seconds.
Please help.
Thanks

Could be clogged head from dirty tape or if you’re digitizing by firewire and also have capture card connected to HD-SDI in this can sometimes cause a feedback loop.

February 9, 2006 at 7:05 pmWow…ok…so. Not using Firewire (but have the card installed).
Here’s the configuration:
HD-SDI IN: From Symphony Nitris
HD-SDI 1 OUT: To LH1700
HD-SDI 2 OUT: To Symphony NitrisI just went over and disconnected the HD-SDI IN from the Nitris and bam…the picture is back on the LH1700.
But this brings me to my next question…which is really my original problem. I’m getting a really wierd image in the capture window of the Nitris. Now, after disconnecting the IN, there isn’t even an image in the Nitris.
Any thoughts with this new info?
Thanks for the quick reply!!

You’ve basically answered your own question; either you’re capturing or playing out from the Nitris. attach only the appropriate in or out to do the task at hand; if capturing connect HD-SDI out of the deck. If exporting attach HD-SDI in to the deck. This should solve your problem; think “feedback loop”.

February 9, 2006 at 7:49 pmYa…Feedback is right. We didn’t have a reference hooked up…could that be an issue? Its working great without the HD-SDI in from the Nitris…we’ll see if the reference helps.
Thanks.

February 9, 2006 at 11:43 pmAlmost all VTRs today are designed to lock up to either Video IN or Referance. If either is out of time, such as a loop from the NLE, the machine can not lock up. Disconnect the Video IN and Reference and you should be OK during playback for ingesting. Do not connect BOTH a Video IN and Reference when recording back to the machine.
Hope this works for you.Regards,
Jeff Merritt

Nitris does not support 720p material. It only has support for 1080 content.
are you up-converting the content via the deck?

February 10, 2006 at 2:50 pmThe Symphony Nitris does support 720 (however, it looks really bad…Avid is working on it…we just got an upgrade yesterday that doesn’t quite seem to do it), but we ARE upconverting to 1080 for this project. The problem was the output (upconvert) setting on the deck wasn’t set yet (to 1080) and we were trying to bring it in to a 1080 project. Once that was set, and the Input was disconnected we were good to go. Thanks.
