I am one of the lucky few that has access to an IoXT and yes it does encode to all 5 flavors of ProRes as well as Uncompssed, DPX frame, and other codecs like DNXHD when it is used with Media Composer6, as long as you are connected to a storage device that is capable of being able to support your chosen codec and workflow. .

IoXT works as if you have a full blown Kona3G card jammed into your Thunderbolt enabled Mac, much of the issue with previous iterations of the Io product line were the limitations of the FW buss, Thunderbolt connectivity to he computer starts at a minimum of 10Gbps and scales up to 40Gbps (which is well over 1.75Gigabytes of data per second).

Thunderbolt is going to change they way many people work, there is now a buss that allows users nearly direct access to the power as directly from the logic board as we are used to seeing on PCIe enabled desktops.

ArriRaw is equal to 444 UC 10bit, that is the signal level that is required to record or playback the content.

The issue is usually the debayering which pretty much requires a top of the line 12core with 12G+ RAM and drives fast enough to playback aprox 350MBps.

Yes.

by offering the user automated archiving, with MD5 or better checksum assurance- you know that your content has been copied and that copy is verified as being accurate.

FCP or OSX do not allow you to confirm that the copy is indeed accurate.

There is also no user certified method for swapping HD’s in the drive cases- doing this will VOID all warranties on the unit.

The Pr4444 Codec shot in Alexa is about 2.3 Gigs per minute or about 140G per hour of content.

so yes you will need lots of Drive space, be glad they are not working with ArriRaw then it would be closer to 900G per hour of content.

I have DL’d a couple of the files and none of them open in Safari and yes they are indeed ProRes

this one is Int_PR422HQ_LogC.mov and you can see that my file is ProRes 422HQ/

So I have a single file recorded on my Ki-Pro drive that keeps coming up corrupt on my PC. The weird thing is that I can still play the file on the Ki-Pro.

My guess is the file is over the 4Gb size Limit found on most Pc’s

Or you are not running the proper version of QT for Windows.

That means the file has not fully downloaded.

ProRes files will not play in Safari at all, so I am DL’ing the INT_PR422HQ_LogC to check, but the server is kinda slow this mornng.

Then they are not ProRes files, as they do not play in a web browser.

Which of the files did you download? There are a number listed. Open the file in the QT player and check the info to see the file type
