the unit is designed to playback files in consecutive order based on the time the file was created.

there is no interface to playback in any other order which may be an issue for his workflow.

there is a Play All and Loop setting for playback, that will allow you to playback all files in a looping manner.

444 codecs can be either RGB or YUV

once again this is incorrect when discussing color compression.

4:4:4 codecs maintain that for every sample taken there are equal numbers of samples take for ALL VAULES whether they are Chroma samples or Luma only samples. So when using a 4:4:4 codec in EITHER YUV or RGB – all values are sampled an equal number of times.

1080 60p from or to HDCamSR requires a DUAL LINK connection to the deck, even thought the format is only 4:2:2 color space.

This format is usually used to deliver VFR from ArriD21 or Sony’s f35/f23 cameras. No one I know masters or delivers content at 1080 60p

While there is not a limit to the number of frames in a Seq.

The HFS+ disk format only allows for the total number of be less than 32,768 items in a folder according to this Apple doc:

I find it much easier to keep the folders even smaller- keeping the folders content at a TRT of about 10 mins EACH ( 25fps x60sec x10min) or about 15,000 frames

Where is your TC source? Deck, Camera or House?

Only the KiPro, Io Express, IoHD and Kona LHI cards support ingest of LTC on capture, all other kona products only support TC over serial (9pin).

I use the HDMI> HDSDI conversion to capture, it offers significantly better signal than a software conversion does.

On set I use the aja HA5 converter ( HDMI- HDSDI) or now a KiPro, works for output from the Canon DSLR’s also.
