Hello Dan. Please check the section in the manual under saving and loading presets. Set up the camera as you would like then export the settings to one of the drives. Reset the camera then import those presets. That is the general process. I hope this helps.

  • While we don’t have this configuration there are a couple things to check. With Micro HDMI cables the length matters. Check with a short length 3 feet or so to make sure it’s not a cable length issue. Set the camera HDMI output to 1080p and do not use the Auto mode. Make sure the frame rate is one of the supported rates of the Ultrastudio. I would not update drivers if it already works with other sources as the OS would not be supported. I hope this helps.

  • Hello Tim. Sorry you are having problems with this. It’s difficult to know what might have changed. We have no experience with your software. Using the Desktop Video setup utility, does everything look right there and the proper input selected? One thing to check is run Media Express and see if the input vide is visible there. You didn’t mention resolution and frame rate. Make sure the input video actually is the expected resolution and frame rate. Often HDMI can change what it is sending and you have no way of knowing what is coming out the cable. Some of the later software requires security settings to allow use of the adapter. Make sure Desktop video is allowed in Security. May not be necessary but worth checking. Hopefully you will find something of a clue.

  • Hello Jerel. You mentioned the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K for a switcher. Your cameras are HDMI so if you use this ATEM, you will need to convert HDMI to SDI possibly using the Micro Converter HDMI to SDI for each. The ATEM does not capture but has SDI outputs. So you would need a capture device such is the Ultrastudio 4K Mini to get 4K video in the computer. The ATEM would let you switch sources and feed any audio to the computer for streaming. But I will say these are the possibilities using Blackmagic gear in your question. There are other solutions that do not use Blackmagic gear which may be more suited for your needs which I am unable to talk about. The above list may be a bit overkill based on your description. I hope this helps. Gary

The Auxiliary output allows switching of any of the sources, internal or external to a separate output. It has no effects capability by itself.

Hello Greg. All of the ATEM switcher models have reference input for genlocking. And they all have similar latency.

Hello Richard. The 4K ATEMs are grouped under the Production Studio 4K link. They may be found here:

    Sorry for the confusion.

  • Menu 309 is a similar setting and may override the front panel. Make sure it is set to “0” for Auto. I’m pretty sure the deck is shifting down like it is in record or Edit Preset mode. Make sure all editing modes are off and you are using the playback head and not the confidence head to play back. Things like that.

  • Hello Dan. I’ve probably forgotten more about the Digi Beta than I remember. Make sure the Reference switch is set to External Reference (whether you feed one or not) and not “Input”. This should align the playback video with the proc amp output.

December 17, 2015 at 8:45 pm in reply to: Downstream keying and ChromaKey on BlackMagic ATEM

Good question. While I cannot answer exactly why, I have some observations. It would definitely add cost. Using a chroma key in this way is a compromise since you cannot use the key color in your graphic. What most people do for this type of key is to provide a key and fill signal separately which allows any image in the fill and will work on all downstream or upstream keyers without using more complex chroma keying.
