    2015 Update
    FCPX v10.1.4

I’m still having this same issue. To restate: once a multicam clip is made, placed on the timeline, and audio is sweetened, when I use the ‘show angles’ and live switch by mouse click, I hear a wee click or pop in the voice at the cut point. I can double click the mc clip audio to expand Audio/Video, and use the trim tool to wiggle the audio cut back and forth, which eliminates it. PIA.

So, I’ve been detaching the audio, and then use the ‘show angles’ mouse click switch, thereby not cutting the audio track. Works great. If I have to cut portions out, Blade All, lasso and ripple delete works fine.

Seems quicker, but I’ll keep my eye out for pitfalls.

  • I’ve read and read and read but never really found a solution for what would work for me…until this morning.

So, for those of us using Mountain Lion and FCP7 (I know, I’ll update when I’m ready), in order to have the folder structure of AVCHD footage appear in the Log & Transfer window, all I did was COPY the SDHC card on my desktop, and PASTE it into my raw library folder for that project. Doing that provided the folder structure needed to L&T in FCP7 on Mountain Lion.

My inference tells me ML sees the card as a structure and not a package…but then I’m just an old dog looking to work smarter not harder…done TV is good TV.

Maybe try throwing some Color Correction in the mix…possible adjusting the levels first, and then maybe attempt to very slightly change the color in highs and mids?

Well, if we’re going back in time, to do it all over again…I (Apple) would never had thrown the kind of weight they did at NAB, hijacking a stage and holding our community hostage for a few days or weeks, only to essentially pee down our necks and tell us it’s just rain.

That’s a little strong I admit. But jeeze…at the time there wasn’t much debate about FCP7 riding the top of the heap, so perhaps a bit of professional restraint and tact we’re in order.

So, to answer in my opinion…no, the drama was definity not needed or worth it. We’re pros, for crying out loud…tell us straight the way it is, thank us for our loyalty, and leave us with choices.

I agree with Tom…Apple is following the dollars.

Now, that’s not to say the professional community might have been deserving of a better roll out, explaination, or just straight talk from Apple…

    Panny’s HMC-150 is the DVX100A with everything up to 1080 60i. I love this camera…sure it’s got limitations, but so I.

If your raw footage in inside an AVCHD folder from your camera, that whole folder has to come into the L&T window for it to work…sorry if this isn’t helpful, but I’ve had people give me a .MTS file, which is worthless in L&T.

What if you put an Add Edit at the right time and applied it there?
