    What do you use?

Maybe Joomla is the problem, the reason why I have the problems that I have.

Of course, it is most likely operator error, particularly when you consider that I’m not the great tech in the world.

    David Ross Weiss –
I hope you see this post. You responded to a post I placed about removing dirt from still images with an http sending me to an article you thought worth reading on the subject. When I clicked on it – the article was on the extremetech.com web site – I was told there was an error in the http.
I can’t seem to search out the article on that site that you had in mind.
Any help you can offer to find that article would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much.

Okay, I can go with that. Can you suggest any ‘commercial strength’ photoshop filters that would really get the job done?

    Thanks Jerry,
I will check that out. I know these files were MP3s so you have probably hit the nail on the head.

    Chad –
Thanks. I did. But I found my real answer by calling the AJA tech support number and talking to someone there.

Thanks for the suggestion. It turned out to be something I probably never would have thought of. I called AJA support and, after explaining my problem, the technician calmly told me to look at the cable connecting the breakout board to the computer. ‘The writing on both ends of the connectors of the cable must be face up so you can see it,’ he told me. When I did as he asked, everything worked like a charm. Who would have thought?

    Thanks Shane –
I’ll check them out. Was looking back over some previous posts and someone mentioned the Samsung LN3750 and the LG LH90. They are both larger than I want though since I will keep one analog monitor for the browser info. Also Biscardi back in 2008 mentioned the Dell WFP2804 but I do not see it in the current catalogue. Again probably too large for my needs. Maybe an LG LH in a smaller size or the same with the Samsung might work.

    Wayne –

I could not agree with you more. I had been planning on replacing this system after Mac World announcements but my local dealer advised me to wait until after NAB when no new platforms were announced at Mac World. If I can’t resolve this issue though I might be forced to act before then. I am concerned that turning the system off and on with the button on the front of the computer might have not be good for the long term health of this system.

I just tried the link you gave me and I was told Apple Support could not find it.

January 30, 2008 at 8:21 pm in reply to: Boosting low audio signal

i thought that doubling your tracks was a bad idea in fcp. something about the software not liking to see the same audio on left and right channels (i.e. 1 and 2 for instance). did i misunderstand?

but, hooray, i have tried the au peak limiter filer and the ‘pre-gain’ setting in that filter does a wonderful job of boosting audio.

thanks to all. i really appreciate this tip.
