    Hi –
I’ve got what I hope is a simple question for you experts. I have just upgraded to FCS3 from FCP4.5 when I purchased a new MacPro 8-core. One of the things I did was bring over all the music I had from my previous system into my new rig. Everything went great. Now I have pulled in some new music into iTunes and have attempted to import those files into FCP7. And I find that I am unable to choose those files even though I can choose the old files. Have I missed a setting in FCP? In iTunes? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

    Well, the format likely matters.

FCP wants to see aif files, and not much else. MP3’s will import usually, but they aren’t supported for editorial in FCP.

WHen you import new files you intend to edit with, then import them as Aiff files. This is set in the iTunes’ prefs.

    Thanks Jerry,
I will check that out. I know these files were MP3s so you have probably hit the nail on the head.
