    Hi there, Bob.
    Thanx for the info. 😉
Question: What do you mean by ” The Sony SDM-P234b is one of the few monitors (other than the panasonic) that can show a true 23.98 signal without scaling” ? Might be a stupid question but what’s the link between framerate and scaling / aspect?

    thnx.

Hi there. When you say SafeMode, do you mean APPLE+ALT when starting?

Man! I can kick myself for not reading here first. !!!
Same story as you, S. Tried clearing NV-RAM & P-RAM. Removing the Kona2. Removing SonnetTempoX. This hurts.
d2.7 G5 with latest software. Everything was up to date. except FCP not updated to 5.1 universal yet.

Put in a call to AJA. Waiting for them to get back to me… Grrr. This is not nice.

    Thanx, W.

Had quite good results going from 1080p24 to 35mm when CCing on the SDM-P234. Whas quite surprized to see it that much on target going streight to neg without correction. (BTW: I’m an indie. Don’t let the 35mm fool you in thinking theres lots of cash around here. KnowhatImean?)

Anyone know how the Dell would compare to the SDM-P234? (I suspect that Apple displays are the same as the SDM-P234 just packaged by Sony, with 15pin input added.)

Thanx, Mattyc. Works. Interesting: You have to have at least a space input in on a text layer, else the project remains transparent and the background does not show up in motion / FCP. That said, I think it solves it. Just have to keep your workflow organized cause now there’s another file that links to the FCP at second tier! Fun fun fun!

Let’s just say there are people in HD land with SD bugets for now. Not having to rent a deck makes some people smile. But yes. My wishlist is in and a 1200A sure is on it.

As it turns out, the ProIO controller works a bit diferent from the Kona2 Control panel. It always seem to go to INACTIVE if you don’t have the application at the front for switching where the K2’s remains active but shows what QT app is contolling it.

Thanx JerG. Got the Kona2 to get the converted AES from the IO. Just noticed for the first time not that K2 control panel has a selection for ANALOG at Audio in. Does not mention any other audio input other than AES / embedded SDI in the manual. Anyone knows what’s up with that?

Even with the KONA2 selected as input it still grabs the IO controls when I go to STP. Your rip the FW cable out solution might just be the one. 😉 Will try it.

Using the IO controller for d/a. Yet. when I open Soundtrack Pro, the controller switches to INACTIVE. Thus, Soundtrack pro grabs the IO controls and I cannot use it as a d/a converter while STP is open. Bummer. Any workaround you might think?

Man o man. Got the controller from AJA’s site. (Never looked for it on a separate installer.) This is one of those blind events that is best forgotten.
