June 1, 2006 at 5:43 pmWe’ve been playing around with it for the last hour on our Kona 3 and all I can say is awesome! These are some very impressive upgrades to the card. We are even getting more real-time effects in uncompressed HD.

June 1, 2006 at 6:51 pmCareful, I installed the Kona2 update and it hosed my system!
The only conflict that I had was with the HDLink, but I’ve told before that this is normal. The firware had already been updated to the latest.
On Apple startup logo there is a line of black with a couple of sets of vertical blue lines. Command-Option-O-F and Command-Option-S won’t work.
This is on a dual 2.7 w/ the very latest revision of Tiger.

I have installed all 3 of the the current k2 / k3 and LH builds on 7 machines in the last 2 days with out any issues.
I did have the Fcp5.11 / QT 7.1.1 trash the OS on my non laptop however with NO kona card attached.SO
was everything up to date before your install?
QT also?
did you install anything else at the same time or did you move anything around prior to the restart.
Are you sure you grabbed the correct driver versions[Saddler] “This is on a dual 2.7 w/ the very latest revision of Tiger.”
Since you say that it hosed your system but other than the little info none of us have anything to go on.gary adcock

June 1, 2006 at 8:22 pmYeah, everything including Quicktime were the very latest and running stable before installation from a cold boot. If anyone else encounters this, try restarting in safe mode and installing the Kona 2 2.0 installer a second time and again click Restart when prompted. For whatever reason this worked for me.

June 1, 2006 at 10:15 pmMan! I can kick myself for not reading here first. !!!
Same story as you, S. Tried clearing NV-RAM & P-RAM. Removing the Kona2. Removing SonnetTempoX. This hurts.
d2.7 G5 with latest software. Everything was up to date. except FCP not updated to 5.1 universal yet.Put in a call to AJA. Waiting for them to get back to me… Grrr. This is not nice.

June 1, 2006 at 11:10 pmHi there. When you say SafeMode, do you mean APPLE+ALT when starting?

June 1, 2006 at 11:12 pmHey Francois,
To start in safe mode hold Command-Shift while starting up (before the chime) and hold it down for awhile. Your system should (very slowly) start now.

June 2, 2006 at 2:45 pmThe AJA io v3 package caused the same problems. Had to restart in safemode and had to rescue it by unistalling and reinstalling the old package. So the only thing that seems to work right now is the Kona update – but not the included firmware update that’s in the package.

June 2, 2006 at 5:26 pmNope, the reinsallation only worked for the first resart. When I came in today to boot up it gave me the same black bar w/ blue stripes over the apple logo.

June 2, 2006 at 7:14 pmYep, it works fine after each successive uninstall and reinstall, but then won’t boot the next time up.
So, I gave up and uninstalled to reinstall version 1.2.2, but it tells me there’s nothing to install!
Sure would be nice to be able to use my KONA2 … SOON!
