Don’t want to sound like a dummy, but you said IO control panel. I have that for Kona2 but not for IO. Do you mean there is a controller that I have not installed on my macnine?

Thanx, G. That’s what I thought the setting should be too.
Yet, I have tried this setting to capture shot 24p material, and the originally described symptoms were the result. (see first post). Is it correct to assume that you captured direct from the HDSDI stream off the camera?

What do you mean by Pre planning?
If the 24p video streaming into the K2 is at 60p do you get it to 24p into FCP?

That brings me back to my first question:

Is it possible to capture actual 24p directly from a Varicam (not a deck)? Anyone out there in the heard knows the answer?

Yea. Maybe I’m just a bit dim. But I have played around with the capture settings.

Have you personally captured successfully directly from a Varicam using 24p? Or did you capture from a Deck?

September 19, 2005 at 5:52 pm in reply to: HOW TO GET A FLASH .SWF FILE INTO FCP5?

My guess is that the SWF movie contains second tier movie elements in it that only plays when using the Flash player plugin in Safari. In order to play it in Quicktime, only the first tier movies plays. The only way around this is to import it into Macromedia Director and then use that to export a MOV from there. Else, copy and paste the frames and layers into the root movie from the Flash file and then publish it again as SWF. (If you have the original FLA file. Else Director is your only hope.)
    Hope this helps.

    Thanx, Kool

I didn’t know they had codecs for PCs to read KONA captured media. Good to know.
The list does not seem to cover DVCPRO HD. ;-6 Bummer

    – ‘2vuy’ (aka “Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2”)
    – ‘2Vuy’ (aka “AJA Kona 2Vuy Codec”)
    – ‘v210’ (aka “Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2”)
    – ‘R10k’ (aka “AJA Kona 10-bit RGB Codec”)
    – ‘R10g’ (aka “AJA Kona 10-bit Log RGB Codec”)

    Thanx, Todd

I don’t think that the DVCPRO HD codec is in QuickTime 6.5 for PC, is it? I’m under the impression that it only gets installed on a Mac even inly when FCP is installed…
Seems like the PC version 7 is about to fly, but I don’t see the DCVPRO HD codec on the list.

So I’m assuming that a PC AVID would not be able to open QuickTime based DVCPRO HD captured with FCP and added the .mov extension?

Thanks. OK. Looks like this could do the trick.

This might be a ninny question, but is it right to assume then that the media MUST BE converted to OMF for AVID, or is it possible to do this in another way that allows the original FCP media to be imported somehow directly into it?
