  • HOW TO GET A FLASH .SWF FILE INTO FCP5?

Posted by Jim Blokland on September 19, 2005 at 3:09 pm

Anyone had experience with this? It plays in Safari, but I can’t seem to import it into FCP or QuickTime.

    Help, please.

My guess is that the SWF movie contains second tier movie elements in it that only plays when using the Flash player plugin in Safari. In order to play it in Quicktime, only the first tier movies plays. The only way around this is to import it into Macromedia Director and then use that to export a MOV from there. Else, copy and paste the frames and layers into the root movie from the Flash file and then publish it again as SWF. (If you have the original FLA file. Else Director is your only hope.)
    Hope this helps.

Another solution could be to screen-capture it with SnapZproX!

    Easy.

Thanks. That’s exactly what I ended up doing. Looks quite good too.

    Best, JIM.
