Thanks Jerry, thats what I was after! Sadly I do need to do flv’s at 400kbps (roll eyes) yes I know such a heavy compression. Speaking of H.264 I read that if you export as that and simply change the extension to flv it should play in a flash player. I have no way to test this but is this something you have heard of?
Many Thanks
Francis

Im gonna be honest I can answer most of those apart from 8
“8)Free Choice Cut-N-Paste- When I cut and paste a clip, why can’t I select what track I would like to paste on. If I copy from v1 but want to paste to v4 I don’t have a choice!?”
If you look at the options for each track on the timeline, where the mute is, the last option on the right is what you need.
If you deselect (by clicking it once, it will grey out) You will tell final cut to not to paste on to that track. This also works for the Audio tracks as well. E.g Say we want to paste on to Video Track Two and not Video Track One. You would deselect the icon on Video Track One and then cmd + V and you will see that it puts the video on to Track Two. If your pasting audio as well you will need to deselect Tracks one and two to put the audio on tracks 3 and 4 for our example. An Additional not Final Cut will always try to paste to to lowest track it can so if you tell it not to paste to track one it will auto paste to track 2, so you dont need to deselect all the other video tracks. That makes sense to me, but im not that good a explaining things so let me know if your more confused by reading the above.

Speaking off…what happened to Mr Brown, we seem to be lacking further communication with him in this thread.

Indeed Sir, a lot of my colleagues would phrase it the same way, that dont know the lingo. But yes a guess.

Sounds like a simple case of sequence settings not matching your footage.

Cool thanks Jerry. Of course you are totally right, however its for web and its going to be a 480×270 flv so a proper monitor is not really need for me as people watching the video will just be watching it on a screen like mine. Mainly I just didn’t want it looking totally washed out.

As far as I know you cant search for a sequence as the that information is only held in the project file and is not indexed data by the finder/spotlight (searchable). Pretty sure the only way is to go back through your files, unless you opened that particular project within the last 3 projects opened. If so FILE>OPEN RECENT.
I know thats probably not what you wanted to hear.

Damn I thought that might be the only way of doing it, im very low on space which is the next headache. Thanks for your help Martin.

Hi David,
Well it does what it says on the tin. Im on a 1.25GHz so it takes ages to export (6 hrs for a 1 hour SD project) but that is just my processor I think. The final quality is pretty good although I prefer H264. Ive only done a 320×240 @ 400kbps. I read some where that as flash supports H264 all you have to do is change the .mov extension to .flv and it should play. Ive never tried it before but supposedly it works. To sum up its free and it does the job just fine.
