The P6000 boards do work in PCs and Macs; in Macs with the Media 100 i software, on a PC with the iFinish software. But you need an encryption code that is based on your boards serial number to run the software. Since you have Media 100 i you would need to crossgrade to iFinish to get an iFinish encryption code. But I have no idea how much Media 100 would charge for that.

If you have digitized in the Media 100 i codec you should be able to fast-import the digitized clips into Media 100 i and keep the TC that way. Locate your video clips in the Finder, copy them to the Media 100 i system and import them there.

We made the same experiences. We did only one job on HDV up to now, but we found the Sony player (or the whole HDV format) to be very flakey when speaking about deck control and TC accuracy. When trying to digitize in Media 100 i via FireWire we got maybe 6 out of 10 marked clips, when trying FCP with the same logged clips we got around 3-4 out of 10 clips digitized correctly. So I

You simply can reinstall the application. The older files will be overwritten. But as far as I know there never was a V7.2.1 of Media 100 i. Make sure that you have the correct installer version for your OS and for your encryption code.

As long as you use a QuickTime export (not self-contained or by ref) yes. But it is not really “fixed” but supports Apples poor implementation of RGB levels now.

V8.01 does not work with OSX 10.4 (or 10.3). Either upgrade to V8.2.3 or downgrade your OS to 10.2.x
