Make an Ai. file with bunch of leaves, in a grid, bring it into AE and run the card effect. Then parent that comp to some points in your branches. It should work.

Have you looked at the Render Settings to make sure nothing’s set to anything like “low quality” or what-not?

Kinetic typography came to mind, but like you said, it’s been done, a lot.

I’m gonna be building a narrative’less intro animation for a non-profit. Just thinking of a few creative ways to get their message across with images, music, and type.

Go check out the Basic Color Keying tutorial on VideoCoPilot.net:

If worse comes to worse, you can always go in and do it by hand with a mask/s.

Just finished updating, restarting, resaving, and reimporting… and it’s still getting chopped. Dang.

The art board/crop marks aren’t overlapping any part of the illustration, and I snooped around the file in Ai to see if there were any paths that matched up with the unwanted crop marks, and there weren’t…

    Currently using Ai CS4 14.0.0 and Ae CS4 9.0.2.42

After it’s done updating I’ll try it again and let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I tried that. Still the same outcome.

The only work around I’ve found is to import the file as a composition – cropped layer, delete the problem layer, import the same file again as footage, choose the problem layer, and switch the footage’s dimensions to “document size,” and then open the first comp and drop the individual layer in and reposition it to make it look like it was imported as one big happy family…

    Any other ideas?
