Mackie 1202 VLZ & Soloing Heaphones
Posted by First Last on May 5, 2010 at 4:34 pmDoes anyone know if it’s possible to monitor audio (solo) in your headphones with the Mackie 1202 VLZ? And if so, how?
Thanks in advance.

May 5, 2010 at 9:34 pmThere is no “solo” switching on a 1202.
If you are just doing a stereo mix (no 3&4) you could Mute the channel you want to hear and switch the monitor/phones to “Alt 3-4” but that would kill the channel in the mix, of course.

The 1202 is a pretty basic mixer. (And, a very good one for many applications.)
The Mackie 1402 does offer solo (and many more) features for not a lot more money.

May 6, 2010 at 6:17 pmYou’re right, it is a good mixer and I don’t have any real complaints about it.
But no solo switch for headphones?… Seems like a feature that would be/should be on every model.

May 27, 2010 at 7:44 amJust wanted to say that “yes”, there IS solo capability on the 1202 (VLZ, VLZ Pro, and VLZ3). It may even be switchable between PFL and Solo; I don’t know myself.
So, I don’t know what you guys are thinking of…it’s late and maybe I’m not getting something.

May 27, 2010 at 9:18 pmThere is a PFL button, but as far as I can tell, that doesn’t solo your phones from your monitors. Am I wrong?
Go fly fishing.
