  • Two things I need to clarify :

Why is your project file named “CurrentVersion1 color-credits.fcpproject” ?
All my project files are named exactly the same “CurrentVersion.fcpproject”.
Did you rename it yourself ? If so, you can try to re-atttribute the right name that fcpx is actually expecting.

Second thing, just to be sure: when you say that you’re trying to open your project, it’s not by double-clicking on it, but from FCPX project windows, right ?

Just checked, it works for me :

    Selecting the cut :

    Then hit delete :

You will notice that the angle applied to the clip after having deleted the edit is the angle of the clip which was before the cut.

I could be wrong, but you can select your cut by clicking on it then hit delete.
The angle of the clip before the cut will be applied to the new “cut-healed” clip.

In the angle editor, you just have to highlight the speaker icon for each angle you want to hear.

Good to know, there’s now an autosave function in 10.0.3
In release notes they talk about “Automatic restore of projects and Events in case of file corruption”.
And in your events and projects folders there’s a new “Backup” folder where you can find timestamped versions of the “currentversion” file.
    I believe it’s 15min interval based.

    Haven’t tested recovery yet.

    Hi David,
I have to check this, but I did some OMF/AAF export tests with Automatick Duck, and it appears to me that the problem you describes only happens when you “Break Apart” clip elements.
If you only detach audio from your clip, then the channel configuration is still ok, even if you delete video.
But you’ve got to manage your channels with “open in timeline” function, which sometimes can be annoying. I work in Dual Mono and sometimes I wish I could “open in context of my project” instead of opening another timeline.

Otherwise, another workaround I often forget and that BenB reminded me, is that you can connect your video clip below primary storyline. It then acts like an audio clip (if there’s video on your primary storyline). And exports fine in OMF.

So that’s why Automatick Duck doesn’t export these breaked apart clips.
    Thanks for pointing this out.
