Unless you add some info on computer specs, scratch disks and media locations, Premiere settings etc
it’s almost impossible for anyone to give you a remotely helpful answer.

perhaps if you remove original file from its location, open it separately and apply lumetri effect either render it or save as pr project and then in your main project replace missing clip with the color corrected one, either the render or import the project and replace.

As far as I know latest versions of PP do have a mask option for any effect. In there one can set the shape, opacity, feather etc and keyframe them. Even AE does not do this.

  • Painter unfortunately has not developed Scripting feature at all since version 4! It has a 2GB buffer limit for storing the framestack, which a decade back was OK but not any more with HD resolutions. What I do is just run camtasia to screengrab the session save to uncompressed and send it to AE.
Even AECS3 vector paint doesn’t work properly nowadays on beefy x64 systems, hanging AE after a few strokes no matter what settings are used. (Tried on a copy for converting old projects to CS6 compatible).

The closest and fastest solution for line art, is to have it created in Adobe Illustrator, copy paths, and then paste as masks in an AE comp.
From there one can use the native Stroke filter or TC 3d stroke, to have masks redraw sequentially.

  • Got a lame 16m, 21s…
    Win7x64, i7 350, 24GB Ram, Gigabyte GTX 460 1Gb used, rendered to a 2x1TB Raid 0 drive.
    Time to upgrate GPU…
Which card would you suggest around $300?
Found the EVGA 660 Ti 3GB but read it does not support 4 monitors.
(Currently I have 2 cards installed to get 4 displays, but since both PS and AE performance is downgraded with dual cards I would prefer a single one that supports 4 displays)

Thanks for the suggestion Andrew, hadn’t looked into Pl. Seems like the preferred workflow.
Will surely encompass it in following projects.

    I appreciate your input!
I did that but it is not consistent.First I thought that if the TL clip was selected and I change source mon i/o it changes the same clip i/o in the TL. But even if no clip is selected in TL this seems to happen…

My solution for now is to just go to the source mon. and right click to clear i/o points. Then add new ones for next segment.
Of course I have used markers with descriptions to identify the regions, though I find that they are still a bit clunky in use: double clicking on marker which brings the edit marker dialogue box, shows in point and duration, not out point (as the panel does)So one cannot copy paste from TL. Marker Name on Edit marker box is not translated to the markers panel which has no Name for each marker, only the comments/description.
One cannot delete a marker from marker tab nor rearrange them.
My last marker rant 🙂 is that if I have a marker on the TL that I want to move a bit left or right, perhaps where my CTI is, it cannot happen, because once I click on the marker my CTI goes just to the marker so I loose my previous CTI position…Only by adding a new marker and deleting the old, or going to the marker panel and pasting current time (doing this in edit marker is again not allowed). It would also be useful to be able to change color labels on markers just like with tracks.

In Cs6 I got trapped into this same behaviour but it doesn’t always happen. The problem is identifying when it occurs as I haven’t found any link/unlink to source or auto update option. I have to alt click on i/o points in source in order to add other sections from same clip. Did it not once allow multiple i/o regions all being visible?

Making subclips is not a practical solution at this point as we’re cleaning out good areas from multiple takes, most of which are on the same topic or even more could be in the same sentence so its not like AE precomps.

June 29, 2011 at 7:19 pm in reply to: Panasonic Plasma Monitoring Solution for davinci

    Very interesting discussion.
Since I’m looking for a similar solution, after going through online display test sites, it appears that Panasonic has disabled 4:4:4 reproduction in its consumer displays, which a few years ago supported it, thus subsampling PC signals to 4:2:2.
Hdtvtest.co.uk and avforums.com report this in various reviews of G, V and VT series.

So only the pro models support full chroma. Lets see what the PF30 series to be released shortly improve over the PF20 ones.

Isn’t it silly that a vector application as old as Illy lacks simple functionalities.
Saving a selected object to a separate file is almost a must.
In Draw, or even 3D applications this has been there for ages.
There should at least be a preset script provided by Adobe for this…

The “fastest way” I use is copy, new file, paste save, close, which can be assigned to action..
