It’s nearly impossible to make an average voice track sound like that. It’s 80% the quality of the original voice, and about 20% the equipment.

Good ideas, but my Io is the la version which is analog only, no SDI in/out.
I guess I will keep the Io-la box. I’m assuming I can do the HD-SD timeline drop, then set FCP to output using the Io box and dub from that.

I like my AJA Io-la box because it has simultaneous outputs. I can send Component to my deck/monitor, S-Vid to my DVD recorder and Composite to my VHS dub rack.
All the HD cards I’ve seen only have 3 analog output cables. If I send component to the Beta, how can I send S-vid and Composite to the other decks without re-hooking?

Thanks for the info. I’m just trying to answer some questions before I jump.
Can you work in HD and down-convert to SD and send that out to a component SD monitor in real-time? What I’m really asking is, can I view what it will look like in SD while I work?

FYI: Current up-to-date M100 systems only sell for about $200-$300. It might be worth more to hang on to it in the event that Boris becomes hot and offers a new, system worth buying. Then we… (I have one sitting in a box too) might get a discount for being registered owners. (I know, its a dream)

I just picked up Apple’s iWorks software. It can create a QT movie in any codec from a PowerPoint file. The cool part is it will create it with all the transitions intact! Great way to easily import PP shows in NLE. And it can resize too. Although it resizes everything similar to using a scan-converter but better PQ.

You post is confusing. Are you trying to digitize’ your DV footage or import it into M100? There is a difference between importing and digitizing. M100 will digitize footage that was shot in non-drop frame.
Are you trying to batch digitize NDF footage into an existing timeline that is DF? I’m not sure what you are having problems with. Please explain again and maybe we can help.
