Yes, you can display TC on the SD down-converted output.

You might want to consider taking it in to an authorized shop to have them go though can clean the transport area. They can do a much better job. Plus, they can also lube the drive assembly which is very important. Well worth a couple of hundred bucks.

My suggestion is go wide. It’s worth the money. I bought the Fuji 13×4.5 and wouldn’t buy anything else after using it. (Unless of course, you never shoot indoors or go wide)

I’m confused. You posted that AJA said you cannot get TC over HD-SDI?

Or are you saying you cannot get TC over HD-SDI, just out of your HDX900 playback?

I am looking at getting a 1400 deck for my FCP w/Kona3. Is anyone getting TC over HD-SDI out of a 1400?

    Matt,

Can you post what you did to change the settings for FCP to accept TC over HD-SDI? (At least up to this point)

    Thanks!

Thanks, I do feel I made the correct choice. I’ve been shooting with a rental Varicam since it came out. So, I decided the HDX900 was the best choice (for me).

Oooops, my bad. I misread his post. He was asking about the SDX, not the HDX. As the late Rosanna Danna would say… “Never mind”.

I don’t believe there is a ‘special’ euro model that only shoots euro standards. I think there is only one camera made.

My camera when set to US 720/59.94 shoots only 60P, 30P or 24P. If you have it set to European 720p/50, then you get 50P or 25p.

Same for 1080 with the exception of it also shoots 24P & 24PA. Hope that helps.

September 13, 2007 at 9:06 pm in reply to: pan centering audio

I had this happen to me yesterday. (Not sure if it’s your issue) I copied some footage into a new timeline and the audio was locked left or right. I couldn’t center it either.

What happened was, I had the setting of the sequence wrong. (I can’t remember which setting) but when I reset them correctly for the footage codec, everything panned fine.

So… try creating a new timeline, maybe you have one setting off like I did.

I don’t have any free ones, but the Nattress ‘Film Flash’ plug-in is my go-to for a cool efx. It has a great film speed change too that works great. $100. for the entire film efx set.

If you don’t have it, download his free ‘G-Reverse’ plug-in. Works like FCP should… but doesn’t.
