  • A LUT is just a saved profile of image treatment. If the LUT looks how you want, and keeps all your video levels in the correct range, use it.

    I’m pretty aware of what all is out there, and I haven’t hear of anything like that software wise. I could see being able to do some simple motion tracking in AE and attaching that to a virtual camera, but for long durations like a speaker on a stage, I imagine the tracker would loose its track enough time that you may prefer to animate the virtual camera by hand! Some rough tweening would probably be all you need.
    I did see that you were really looking for a post-production solution, but I would recommend looking into the Soloshot. Your talent would just keep a tracker on them, and the camera would automatically pan with their movement. Always best to get it right in camera, then struggle to make it right in post.

    We have a Nexio here and FTP the videos into it from FCP as a QT in the IMX format.

    have you tried changing the layer orders? or pre-comping some of the different elements?

    The distortion is because the AE comp window is doing an anamorphic display of the comp. The project is set to be the proper size for SD video, but its cheating the pixels so that when the SD signal is stretched across a 16:9 display, it will look how it supposed to. Viewing what you did on a 16:9 production monitor.

    That is all based on speculation of shooting SD, with SD’s non square pixels. HD has true square pixels, very little problems with that.
