Are you thinking of Pluraleyes from Singular softwear? Used mostly for syncing DSLR scratch audio with outboard audio recordings. About $150.

Look carefully at the capsule. The back side has a shiney plastic finish. The active side has a very fine mesh screen. When mounting the EMW in a Countryman vampire clip place the active side towards the back of the clip. That gives a very slight presence boost that helps to reduce the chest resonence when you place the mic too far up on the talents body.

You’re on the “B” block with that frequency range. The “A” block covers 516-558 and the new “G” block is 566-608. You only need to have scanning on the receiver since a scan will tell you whats a good or bad requency for reception.

What cameras are being used? If they’re shooting on DSLR’s like the Canon 5/7D you don’t need tc. In fact you don’t need tc at all if you slate every take with a clap board.

Try a different cable from the receiver. If you have the original 3.5mm TRS to XLR-M that came with the set, that most likely is the problem. With those Sennheiser supplied cables it’s not a matter if they’ll fail it’s when they’ll fail and they always fail and they can’t be repaired as they’re molded on connectors.

Just saw your last line about line inputs cutting the feed completly. Very strange indeed unless the line input was a 3.5mm trs input then the audio would have to be connected to the ring of the male 3.5 mm trs.

Most likely you were getting a line level feed from the PA mixer. Were the inputs on your camera set for line level?

Yes there is a big difference in that IEM’s have more headphone gain than a wireless system and are designed for the job. Limited budgets are always a problem. There is no guarantee that the AT unit will do what you want to your satisfaction.
