  • Are you also getting the pixel anomalies? Its like a distortion effect?
It looks neat for some work but not all.

Yea I did all that actually.
The card is fine and works in another Mac Pro.
its not a perm set-up so Im not going to fret.
I have bigger issues with FCPX using the card.
I have a support ticket going on this.
Tried it in 5 different machines and cant get the Intensity Pro to work with FCPX.
Purchased it for that reason only.

I take it that most here (this post) are not using an Intensity Pro with FCPX.
I could try our DeckLink but we didnt buy that for FCPX.

Im not even getting the so called AV option in FCPX anywhere?
I set my prefs up to 1080p 29.97 which is the same as my projects.
I see the info in the BM control panels about FCPX but no AV option in FCPX app to be found?

  • Lance are you using your Intensity Pro with Component as output?
I dont have access to an HDMI at the moment.
Cant seem to get it to work with Component.
I also cant find the AV option in FCPX.
I can see the FCPX mentioned in the BM control panel.

I can see the info in the Blackmagic control panel in System pref but cant find the AV section in FCPX anywhere? Im running the Intensity Pro. Im testing with Component currently. Have to wait for an HDMI option.

  • What about display for the Intensity Pro?
    Do you have any suggestions?
I have to do this on the cheap unlike what I use at work (FSI).
I also like something smaller than a 42″ Panny 🙂

I got into the habit of using multiple external drives.
I can edit on any workstation available.
However you can confuse FCPX if you have duplicate projects on two different mounts.

    Thanks Kevin for the tips.
Yes done numerous FCPX work using Optical Flow and sadly its the Drift and the conditions it was shot.
The last GoPro HD footage I worked with used a GoPro grip and a Chesty.
Using the helmet option is not best due to the excessive shake.
The Drift is basically a helmet cam since its glued to the side of the helmet.
Other successful formats are DV Cam using Canons and Sonys, then XDCAM and of course RED MX.
However, those were not in the same or even close to conditions as the Drift.
The anomalies actually look cool but too much is too much 🙂
We have Twixtor at work but on an Avid MC.
I guess if I had the time I would test that.
I ran out of time with this one, just wanted to see why my recent FCPX Optical project didn’t come close to most examples Ive seen out there.
