This happened to me a few times on the Mac side with 32GB of ram.
Mind you I was working in HD but previewing 5 to 10 seconds shouldnt task my set-up.
Again this wasnt a common problem just one that pops up between CS4 and CS5.

Yes it does sound like beta, but the Avid MC at 5.5 and from the sounds of it v6 is beta too 🙂
We’re holding on to 5.5 till the rest of the beta testers on v6 are calmed 😉

Just made the mistake off adding 8GB OWC RAM with current 1GB sticks. Had to ditch the 1GBs.
RAM is evil new or old when it acts up 😛

February 26, 2012 at 7:09 pm in reply to: Beach Balling All Day!

My set up got weird at home due to a mix of internal drives with f* up perms add slow FW800 as main wip drives.
After a few reboots and cleaning up the internal drives, they beach ball happens occasionally mostly when switching from project to project.
    Im sure itll come back.
At work Im using a GTech esPro with SAS so no beach balls there yet.

I tried the steps found in that link.
They do work for 10.6.8, however FCPX cant seem to recognize the card.
I checked all the other apps and they have no problems utilizing it.
Sure you get the AV in the drop down menu but in the playback prefs, you get the “none found” as option.
Even in that video link posted you can see they had the same result.
I got around to installing Lion but I seem to be crashing constantly with the Intensity Pro card on a 2010 Mac Pro 2.66 but flawless on a 2009 Quad.

    Not according to BM Tech.
    Still waiting for an answer.
I will venture into Lion as soon as I get to work.
I have a spare Mac Pro that needs to be gutted anyway 🙂

    Awe man your ROCK!!
Ive been banging my head trying to get a newly purchase BM Intensity Pro to work on Snow Leopard.
I even have BM Tech on it with no fix to date.
If I would have seen your PDF prior to purchasing I would have not bothered to buy it 😛
Oh well not I have to force an upgrade to Lion.
    Crossing fingers 🙂

Just got word from BM Tech that this card is not working with Snow Leopard.
They are still working on answers for me.
It does seem to work on Lion, however its too iffy for us at work to change to Lion.
Can anyone else clarify that they got this working on SL?
I referring to Intensity Pro and FCPX.

P.s. this has nothing to do with my above problems with a loaded system.
