From AE they need to export to a codec that supports ALPHA CHANNELS.

Back in the day it was QuickTime Animation but has to be set for RGB+ALPHA.

Now I just use ProRes4444 and set to RGB+ALPHA at export.

    Apples and Oranges 🙂

    Or soup to nuts…

Adobe works great on all of them.

    Can you be more specific?

    I use the following:

    2103 Mac Pro D700 64GB RAM

    2021 M1 Mac Book Por 16″

    2019 Mac Pro (loaded)

HP (various models too many to list)

So none of the above are iMacs or Lenovos 🙂

A few options some built in AE.

I think Filter > Generate > Radio Waves will do the trick.

You can play with the attributes and/or animate them as well.

I would place it in a Solid stand alone layer for better control.

December 1, 2023 at 3:53 am in reply to: Export to FCPX Issues

One issue I noticed is that the export to FCPX isn’t playing nice when using Fairlight audio.

In my case, the audio is missing. It’s there just have to turn it back on in FCPX.

However, the audio settings in Fairlight do not transfer over at all.

I tried to export just the audio alone via FCPX > Delivery page and that too isn’t working.

I can see/hear the tracks in the Finder but they are not transferring over via XML.

The price you pay when you take over someone else’s project 😛

The only animation is the text scale (pop).

The map does scale down but its probably a precomp scale.

I too am looking at upgrading my home 2013 Mac Pro.

2019 ones are too pricey (use one at work) so hoping the latest Mac Studio can cut it.

    Pardon the pun 🙂

OS Sonoma and FCPX 10.6.7 on 2019 Mac Pro work fine.

I had this issue too until I realized I had a third clip in my multi-cam.

It was the audio clip taking up space.

Not sure if are doing the same setup as me.

For me, I had to press “3” to access the other clip since the audio was on “1”.

I’ve been stuck working on an older version of Resolve for years.

Not sure when they implemented “Save Timeline as FCPX XML”.

I’m embarrassed to find out this late in the game.
