Working on a doc loaded with Apple ProRes 422 HD files and noticed the imported XML leaves out a ton of missing files. It doesn’t show the file/edit points but a big grey null spacer (see attached).

If it was missing it should at least show the actual length of the clip missing.

I noticed during Delivery that some clips (the ones that do show up) are visible on the viewer pane but the ones that disappear show as Media Offline (red image).

Weird is that I can see the clips in the Resolve timeline.

Hoping this is a minor issue.

Using Resolve Studio 18.6.3 on 2013 Mac Pro Monterey.

Those clips may indeed be offline but in the timeline it is displaying either a proxy version or render cached images

    Thanks, Michael.

My experiences with missing clips is that you can see the edit points as well as a red missing clip spacer. In this case it just disappears as if it never was edit.

The clips that are there create the in and out of the missing clips.

Anyhoo I’ve since fixed this issue but with no idea as to how.

I just reopened the offending DRP file (inherited project) and started over again with the export.

I am not sure, but wasn’t there a way to export just the FCPX XML and reconnect using original source footage?

I dont think Ive done that to date.

I’ve been stuck working on an older version of Resolve for years.

Not sure when they implemented “Save Timeline as FCPX XML”.

I’m embarrassed to find out this late in the game.

Years! The latest version is light years ahead. The export to fcpxml has been there for years. There are many versions as Apple has changed that protocol numerous times

And here I was exporting via delivery page wasting hours 😛

One issue I noticed is that the export to FCPX isn’t playing nice when using Fairlight audio.

In my case, the audio is missing. It’s there just have to turn it back on in FCPX.

However, the audio settings in Fairlight do not transfer over at all.

I tried to export just the audio alone via FCPX > Delivery page and that too isn’t working.

I can see/hear the tracks in the Finder but they are not transferring over via XML.

The price you pay when you take over someone else’s project 😛
