    Perhaps I’ll re-explain.

I want a client to review my color session or my FCP session in realtime as I work.

    Thanks, that worked!

Now that I have the timeline changing all at once, what would be the switch to make once clip to color separately from the rest of the takes?

But will it also “safe” chroma?

If I uncheck “use local version for new clips in timeline” nothing changes. I still need to apply a grade to every edit.

I’ve been doing dailies lately with that codec with Alexa. No problems. Curious if it’s a GPU issue. Perhaps try a different computer, using the lite version and see if still happens. If you want to FTP the whole take, I’ll try it on my end.

So if I simply dragged one of the rendered HQ files to a timeline, FCP7 allows the 4k setting just fine. Whereas if I tried to configure the sequence setting, the software won’t allow it.

So FCP 7 still works after all. From there I’ll export a new HQ file for the master.

    -Thanks

so the only way to finish a 4k show is in resolve? I can’t check the sync correctly, I can’t cross check the workprint. I cant work with titles the way a non-linear system typically works. gosh when I ask “other than Reslove” I mean i rather know a way I can finish the show not working off the r3d files the whole time.

Thanks Sascha for offering the Smoke solution. I download the Autodesk demo, but stuck on importing the XML… again.

  • A rendered out export of your video only (minus graphics) is problably your best bet.
    Export in Premiere,
Import it back in, and razor the edits to match your cut. This should only take under an hour, or less.

XML that into Resolve, and you’re good to go.

Thanks for your responses. For a rebuttal, this is dailies only, so a cuda GFX card isn’t necessary (as my understanding.)

I have an esata card for the old mac pro option. And If I get an iMac, it is 250% more for a newer one than an old mac pro.

    I see you’re point.

If I bought the new mac book pro, then I guess its a no brainer, huh?
