  • Cool! Seems to work perfectly under R17! Thanks!

If I ever get around to scripting, I’ll try to make it so the new center points are all selected on exit.

Many thanks: what a quick solution!

  • Not practical for more than a dozen polys.

(FWIW, LW has this function. Rarely needed, but nice when you do need it.)

That’s good to know, as I watched a video about cacheing and it seemed to at least heavily imply that glitches were to be expected in the render if it were restarted.

This is re-assuring, although I’m sure to be safe one could always just make sure to cache the particles.

  • One way of considering it might help you, since we have no idea what you are attempting in terms of animation:

Sometimes putting the camera INSIDE the scene eases this kind of problem. For instance, if you texture the inside of a sphere, it naturally loops around, and all you need to do is rotate the camera.

If you are doing a walk cycle, you may find it easier to START the walk cycle in the center of the screen, so the looping occurs in the middle where you have more control

More information will give you better answers.

I prefer this final solution, as I find the “use a null” solution to be lame-ish, since it requires me to remember to manipulate something other than the actual object to achieve motion.

Thanks for the Stop tag, didn’t know it existed.

My heart leapt when I saw this answer… but do you mean the axis BUTTONS at the default top, or the axis itself?

I see that I can reset the buttons (thank god, thought I was losing it) but the comment seemed to be about the HUD axis gizmo, which in R17 doesn’t appear (tmk) with the Magnet tool.

March 27, 2016 at 9:31 pm in reply to: Disappearing fonts in AEP

    Nope: standard local *.otf fonts.

It’s not just that they’re not “installed”, the files themselves (as best as I can tell, hard to know with font vs filenames) seem to be not on the machine.
