I don’t see whatever it is that you’re seeing.

The first step would be to DEFINE what it is you think is different. “Better” is not good enough– more contrasty? more saturated? “Step-printed”? What, exactly?

Then you’re on your way.

Sounds like a simple thing: find the layer that should be X but is Y, and replace the contents with X from the project window.

in Windows that would be an ALT+DRAG operation.

Select the layer, then ALT+DRAG the correct image.

It’s not like I’m opening the project, it’s already open and running. I moved a file.

And while one might say “oh yeah: don’t do that” (jk), it’s still IMO a bug, because users shouldn’t be required to hit OK a thousand or so times.

My bad: somehow I inadvertently set the comp length to ONE frame (or possibly imported something that way) and of course one frame was not enough to display my layer markers.

Well, THAT’S good news. I hope it includes timeline cursor movement in the Footage Window, and instant display of Markers.

(Realized as I was typing that footage doesn’t have Markers (tmk only Layers & Comps do) but hey, they could add that too.)

It’s NUMPAD ENTER. I thought I’d tried that, but apparently not.

No answer, but I figured it out.

In PREFERENCES, there’s a setting that will automatically add the keywords in the path to the images.

So, done and dusted.
