Very exciting, Chris! Your promos on the site are awesome, I think we’ve only barely touched the surface of the potential of this plug-in!

January 20, 2010 at 2:36 am in reply to: Best inexpensive prosumer HD camera for motion tracking/greenscreen workthanks so much for the input and advice!
maybe i should just start with a camera that is suitable enough for some 3d motion tracking? is an HDV cam good enough or am i going to run into the same quality issues as discussed about the greenscreen? probably not, right considering 3d motion tracking really doesn’t need perfect color information, just spacial data and sharp reproduction.

October 26, 2009 at 4:53 am in reply to: Animated Metaball Object Needs Matrix Object to Generate Objects to Entire Surface Of Metaball objectThanks so much for your response, it helped me realize what I was doing wrong here.
To generate some kind of randomness in the size and rotation to the object I wanted cloned all over the metaball object (it’s more of a blob than a sphere I wanted all over the surface of the object), i added a Random Effector, but didn’t realize that the Random Effector randomizes the spheres movement over time, thus creating the random movement. IS there a way to add the random effector that effects the objects on the surface once and doesn’t randomize it each frame but just adds an initial randomness to the position, rotation, size but doesn’t keep generating more random positions throughout the animation?————————–

Renders take FOREVER since I updated to Snow Leopard.

If you use CC Ball Action and adjust the ball size, etc, add some glow and whatnot and you get a pretty believable matrix grid look. Used this many times.

Thanks for your responses…
how would I go about getting the DVCProHD codec?

Thanks for the quick response!
All I am seeing is DVCPRO and DVCPRO50…no DVCPROHD
Sometimes when I rendered out as DVCPRO and picked the 16:9, it would be kinda stuttery and also wouldn’t render out at the size I wanted it to. It would sometimes render out at 800-something x whatever. Meanwhile the dimensions the comp was in were 1280 x 720.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I wanted, thanks!
Now to just wrap my head around that code…
