Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish.

Picture a grid of rectangles with some of the rectangles in the grid missing. I would like the rectangles to move kind of like an LED watch where the block is in one spot but then moves to another point, but only so its lined up horizontally and vertically with the grid. So kinda like a tic tac toe board where a square alternates randomly in each block, only for what im doing, it’s a very big box with lots of blocks.

Is there an expression to do this?

I think this page is what you want:

    https://www.motionscript.com/mastering-expressions/random-3.html

So each layer that’s the size of one of the squares, gets the expression on Position. Just adjust the grid as needed, numbers of rows and columns, and loose the circular masks that are on the layers making them circles. The expression creates the grid and the random movement. Also adjust Holdtime.

The headings, “Pushing the Limits” and “Making It 3D” apply.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I wanted, thanks!

Now to just wrap my head around that code…
