In DVD Architect, drag your “intro” media to the “Project Overview” window to the left of the menu area. The right-click it and choose “Set DVD Start”. Next Double-click it to open it.

Now to the right of the menu area is the “Media Properties”. Go to the “Remote Buttons” section and turn off all buttons you don’t want to work.

The “copy protection” features are not there for burned discs. If the duplication place is simply burning additional discs, they will all remain unprotected. If you take it to a production house and do pressed discs, then it comes into play but you need to choose the “Write Master” option when creating the DVD.

Exactly. You can simply continue doing things the same way you always have. Make several smaller projects – and then combine them into a “final” project when done. You can actually drag a VEG file to the timeline and it will work just like any other “clip”. So just drag all the different VEG files into the FINAL project.

You could also adjust JUST the video either by ungrouping the video from the audio or right-click the video portion, go to the properties, and change the “Playback Rate”.

Go to View – Edit Details and there is a column labeled “Use Count”. If this is zero, it has not been used.

Scripts can also let you know which ones are not used. For example, Exaclibur has a tool that will take all unused clips and add them to a new track in your project.

No. DV is saved as an AVI file type. HDV is saved as m2t.

I would add a second audio track, put that 5 seconds of audio in the correct location on the second audio track, and then use a volume envelope to lower the volume for that 5 seconds on the main audio track.

Alternately, you can “S”plit the 5 seconds of audio out of the main track, delete it, and then drop in the new audio.

Correct. External is for DV. Internal is for HDV. My test clips were DV.

I have a file on my hard drive that I taped on January 13, 2007 at 4:48 pm. From Windows Explorer properties, the “Created” reads “Saturday December 29, 2007” and “Modified” reads “Saturday January 13 2007” which seems to bear out what you’re saying. That file was captured with Scenalyzer Live.

I have another file that was captured with the Vegas capture program recorded the same day that reads “Created” Saturday December 29, 2007 and “Modified” Thursday August 2, 2007.

From inside Vegas, the “General” section reads the same on both of those files as above. However, in the “Capture” section, I see this on the second file:

And this on the first file above:

So in both cases I’m getting the actual date/time info from the tape in the “Capture” section of the properties from within Vegas.

Sounds like you did it from WINDOWS Explorer. Instead, right-click it in the Explorer window INSIDE VEGAS.
