  • Identifying Clips on the timeline

    Hi All,

In the “Project Media” window are clips and pics that have been imported. Some have been added to the project others not. Is there a way of displaying the clip name or properties on the timeline or “graying” it in “Project Media” window to let you know its been added.

Pinnacle does this and I find it usefull when working with large amounts of media.

    Cheers Craig

to show name on timeline: VIEW/ACTIVE TAKE INFORMATION – is a toggle switch

I don’t use media manager but it prob has a way of showing what media is being used more graphically, but my simple method is as follows:

In your Project Media tab, instead of showing thumbnails, change the dropdown view button to DETAILED. Shows loadsa stuff, inclu which media being used and how many times.

Go to View – Edit Details and there is a column labeled “Use Count”. If this is zero, it has not been used.

Scripts can also let you know which ones are not used. For example, Exaclibur has a tool that will take all unused clips and add them to a new track in your project.
