    Gurus –

I am going nuts over here. I know this can be done in DVDA and I have seen a post on how to do it a long time ago but I can’t find it. What I need is to have introduction media (copyright stuff) that cannot be fast-forwarded through when one first inserts the DVD. Right now I have introduction media on the timeline right after the .dar file but I cannot figure out how to force the viewer to watch these wonderful “You will die” warnings :-). Please help – I need to get this off to a client tomorrow.

While I am at it, I noticed (for the first time) that I can create a master DVD with copyright protection. Have any of you used this and how does it affect the ability to make copies of the DVD at a duplication house? My client plans to have 500 copies made and wants to protect them but I did not think it would be possible for the duplication house to make copies if that was the case.

Any thoughts on the above would be awesome.

In DVD Architect, drag your “intro” media to the “Project Overview” window to the left of the menu area. The right-click it and choose “Set DVD Start”. Next Double-click it to open it.

Now to the right of the menu area is the “Media Properties”. Go to the “Remote Buttons” section and turn off all buttons you don’t want to work.

The “copy protection” features are not there for burned discs. If the duplication place is simply burning additional discs, they will all remain unprotected. If you take it to a production house and do pressed discs, then it comes into play but you need to choose the “Write Master” option when creating the DVD.

Janet, it’s been a long time since I’ve done this so I did a test and I think the following (done in DVDA 4.0) will work for you.
Double-click the intro media so that it’s on the centre screen as well as on the right side menu.
Under Media Properties on the right-hand menu, click “Remote Buttons”.
Set the “P” (Previous), “N” (Next), “F” (Fast Scan) and “B” (Backward Scan) buttons to “Off” .

Thank you Ed and Mike. Your help has made everything work perfectly. Ed – thank you for the continued explanation on when to use the mastering capabilities of DVDA.

Thanks to both of you, I will make my schedule tomorrow.

    Awesome guys –
