Audio of an entire track… use the audio slider on the track header.
Audio changing over time, add a Volume Envelope to the audio track (just select the track and press “V”). Then you can add points to the envelope and adjust volume up or down.

Just move the files. Then open the project. Vegas will then not be able to find the files and ask where they are. Then simply point Vegas to the new location and you’re done.

Yep. Put the text (with a transparent/checkerboard background) on a track ABOVE the video. Then you’ll see the video behind the text.

View – waveforms and frames
If you want to keep the waveforms but only remove the thumbnails, Vegas Pro 9 has a new option that will allow you to do that as well under Options – Preferences – Video tab.

I wrote a special custom command I use every week at church. One thing it does is tell me the length of the project AND how long/short I am from my target length so I know exactly how much I need to cut to continue. So it’s certainly possible to get what you’re looking for via a custom command. I find it extremely useful for that!

1. CTRL+L/R Arrow or type the number of the region (up to 99) using the numbers above the letters (not the numeric keypad)
2. View – Edit Details and select “Regions” in the “Show” box
3. Right-click on the region number and choose “Delete”. In the Edit Details box, delete the line containing the region you no longer want.
4. Click and drag the cursor to create a selection area and then press “R”.Edward Troxel

There’s no so much a “Length” limit as there is a “Size” limit. Your menus are limited to 1Gig.

While you can’t adjust all the individual events all at once; if all the text events are on the same TRACK, you could use Track Motion to lower them all at once.
