Move your mouse slowly toward the bottom of the dialog. As soon as it turns into an up/down arrow, click and drag upwards. It’s been resized to “nothing”.

Yes they do. That’s why you need to pull the events into an array or some other internal structure, then you can process the array in order moving the events wherever you wish.

Try zooming in on the timeline. Just turning the mouse wheel will let you zoom in and out. As you zoom in, you see more detail allowing you to make more precise changes to lengths.

As Danny said, this only applies to NEW still images added to the timeline after the change was made – hence the name “New still image length”

Just move the cursor to the right edge of the clip – click and drag left to make it shorter or click and drag right to make it longer.

Just SELECT the events you want do have that transition and then drag that transition to one of the selected transition. It will then be applied to all selected events.

BTW, if you use Vegas Pro instead of Movie Studio, scripting can be used to automate many of the tasks you are wanting to do.

When you go to file – render as, click on “Custom”, then go to the audio tab and turn the audio ON. It’s off by default for MPEG2 assuming you’ll render the audio separately to AC3.

To help prevent this from happening in the future, you could use my free Auto Save custom command that installs as part of Excalibur (you don’t have to purchase Excalibur for it to work). It will automatically save your project under a NEW file name every “x” minutes (you can set the timeframe) so you could go back to the last saved version an lose, at most, “x” minutes.

Vegas will not render “to the length of a volume envelope”. The volume envelope is simply on the track – the whole track – and will be as long as that track is. I would look at the 20 minute mark on the timeline, zoom in close, and I’ll bet you’ll find a sliver of a clip there. Click on the “move to end of project” button “->|” and see where it goes!

It’s the DirectX Rack Focus plugin in NewBlue Video Essentials II.

If you’re using OpenFX in the new version, you can manually switch it out to the new version but you’ll have to manually add it and then properly set the settings. Or you can go ahead and install the DirectX version as well. Both DirectX and OpenFX can be installed at the same time.
