Hello. I have a question regarding the Volume Control Envelope feature in Sony Vegas.

When I insert a volume envelope in the audio track, the length of the volume envelope extends way past the project itself; it seems to extend to infinity on the timeline. How do I trim or shorten the volume envelope?

This issue is that when I render my project, the project is rendered to the the length of the volume envelope. So, for example, even though my project is only 1 minute, the rendered project lasts 20 minutes because vegas is rendering the project based on the volume envelope.

    Thank you

Vegas will not render “to the length of a volume envelope”. The volume envelope is simply on the track – the whole track – and will be as long as that track is. I would look at the 20 minute mark on the timeline, zoom in close, and I’ll bet you’ll find a sliver of a clip there. Click on the “move to end of project” button “->|” and see where it goes!
