What version of Vegas are your running? (i.e. have you updated to 6.0c?)

My first thought would be to uninstall connectHD and reinstall Vegas (maybe even uninstall Vegas first).

Here’s one solution: Create your title in Photoshop (or whatever photo editing program you have) on a transparent background. Now bring that image file into Vegas to use for your title.

I still submit you’re using the wrong hardware for the job if you want to simply do the job rather than dealwith problems. Quit messing with trying to get the AIW card to work. Instead, connect a convertor (like a Canopus ADVC-110 – if you have miniDV camera, that might work as well) to the computer via firewire. Connect your external device to the convertor. Then you can capture in Vegas via firewire to a standard DV-AVI file. You’ll have MUCH fewer problems using DV-AVI files and have better quality than you will using MPG files from the AIW.

If you click on the External Preview button, it will show wherever the cursor is located on the external monitor. Just use the left right arrows (Hold ALT down for frame by frame) to move frame by frame on the external monitor. I am NOT talking about Print to Tape – I’m talking about External Preview.

computer –> Firewire cable –> camera/convertor/deck –> S-Vid or RCA –> TV

Ok, HOW are you capturing? Sounds like you’re probably going through some USB connection to an MPEG file. If this is true, get rid of the USB connection and try capturing through FIREWIRE to a standard DV-AVI file.

It does a LOT more than just multi-cam for speeding up editing. Event selection alone has sped up my editing. Marker manipulation is wonderful. Photo montage tool to quickly get a base montage. All these little things add up in a hurry!

If you want more speed, upgrade to the current version and try scripting. The addition of scripts can help speed up your editing tremendously. For an example of that, just go to https://www.jetdv.com/excalibur and look at the sample videos there!
